The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is a sporty and adventurous crossover that provides the power and safety features necessary to keep you moving, whether that’s in the city or out in the countryside. The relatively rugged lifted suspension allows this SUV to handle more than most cars, and its small size makes city parking a breeze.

Meet the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek

The design philosophy of the Crosstrek is to introduce a crossover capable of handling rough terrain if it needs to, giving a modern interior cabin experience on a lifted suspension system and standard all-terrain tires that leave the Crosstrek sitting high and mighty on the road.

The base-level trim offers a 2L four-cylinder engine rated at 152 horsepower and a combined average fuel economy rating of 30 mpg. The upgraded 2.5L engine generates 182 horsepower at a comparable combined average rating of 29 MPG. Both engines come exclusively in AWD, and the 2L engine has the option of coming with a 6-speed manual transmission. A plug-in hybrid is available for the 2L engine, expanding the fuel efficiency of a combined 90 MPGe.

What’s New and Improved for 2023?

The changes to the 2023 model of the Crosstrek are relatively minor. The only one of note is the addition of the Special Edition model, which builds on the Premium level trim but adds a unique tan exterior color with dark gray exterior highlights, 17-inch wheels, and red and black interior upholstery.

Notable Features to Ask About

Safety Features

Subaru is known for consistently making safe and reliable vehicles, and they seek to carry that tradition forward with the 2023 model of the Crosstrek. Notably, these safety features are only available on engines paired with an automatic transmission. Subaru’s Eyesight Driver Assist software comes standard in all trim levels of the Crosstrek and scans the road to provide real-time information to monitor and adjust your vehicle’s speed and direction.

This means automatically adjusting your speed while using adaptive cruise control, providing advance warning of a collision, sending notifications when drifting out of a lane, and cutting pre-collision acceleration to help minimize the impact of a crash. Available upgrades include blind spot monitoring, emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.

Generous Warranty Coverage

Another major selling point of the Crosstrek is Subaru’s faith in their vehicle. All 2023 models of the Crosstrek are covered under a limited warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, while the powertrain is covered under a separate warranty for five years or 60,000 miles.

Perhaps most notably, the hybrid components of the Crosstrek are covered under their own specific warranty that is even longer than the other two, clocking in at eight years or 100,000 miles.
