Through our united efforts during this decade-long partnership with LLS, we’ve supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be LLS’s largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers will have supported more than 470,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.
Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why Subaru and its retailers, like us, partner with a local animal shelter every October to provide direct financial assistance and host adoption events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, we have donated over $51 million, which has supported the adoption, rescue, transport, and health of over 420,000 animals. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here.
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Chandler, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Subaru Superstore of Chandler is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Subaru Superstore of Chandler have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/16/2025, Subaru Superstore of Chandler donated 120 coats to AZCEND. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
The words that no one wants to hear are you have cancer. Too many of our family members and friends have been delivered this terrible news. Subaru Superstore of Chandler has been fortunate to be associated with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Arizona to deliver warm, soft blankets to the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert. These blankets and messages of hope are for the patients at the center to remain warm and comfortable during their treatment. It is a wonderful opportunity to provide some comfort to those in need here in our local community. There were many people involved in this project including Samatha Hinken, Jen Palmer, and Amy Dillon from the LLS, Drew Kingston, Shannon Fleischman, Pamela Ballard, and Cassandra Amundson from Banner Health. They all helped organize the delivery of the blankets, and helped set up a display so that the patients were aware of the availability. Cathy Price, Grant Bowley, and Rob Daily from SSOC delivered the blankets and helped put them on display. We appreciate the assistance of all those involved, and sincerely hope that they proved the necessary comfort to all in their time of need.
For the last ten years Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation have worked together to make a difference in the lives of young people in need in our community. This association has provided an immediate impact on their day to day lives, and provided many opportunities. Rob Daily from SSOC was honored to attend a meeting with the entire AFFCF organization to present this years check for $40,000.00. This will be used by AFFCF to provide many necessary services for the foster youth, and SSOC is proud to be associated with such a great organization. It has been a great ten year association and we look forward to many more years of working together. Thank you everyone at AFFCF for all that you do.
Every year, twice a year Subaru Superstore of Chandler partners with Friends-for-Life to offer free Micro Chipping and vaccinations to local pet owners. This year’s event was by FAR our biggest turn out, with over 300 dogs and cats coming together to get a little more LOVE from the community! This service makes such a huge difference in these animal’s lives and lets people give their pets a better quality of life with a little help from Subaru. We want to give a special thank you to Barb Savoy and all the 30 amazing volunteers that showed up to lend their time and love for these animals! We are looking forward to October's event!!
Subaru Superstore of Chandler has partnered with Azcend for many years to help provide needed services for those in the local community experiencing difficult times in life. Azcend serves the local Chandler/Gilbert population with many necessary services that they otherwise would not be able to provide for themselves or their families. This year our first collaboration was to provide warm jackets to children that were in need. Azcend let their community know about the opportunity and provided the location. Subaru Superstore provided the jackets and brought in volunteers to assist in the distribution. We arrived with the jackets on a Thursday afternoon, and the Azcend team had already set up the tables. There was a line set up that had already reached around the corner, and registration soon began. The families brought in their children who were able to pick out the color and style that they liked. To see the joy on the faces of all the children and parents made the day very special. Thank you to Azcend for allowing us to take part in such a great day. We will see you soon later this year when we will get together again for a food drive.
Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation held our semi-annual Spring packing party for foster youth enrolled in college taking finals. This time we were fortunate enough to fill 92 care packages for the young scholars. These items include blankets, various food items, books, and other needed extras. AFFCF acquires these items and brings them in to Subaru Superstore of Chandler where a dedicated team of volunteers from the organization, community volunteers, and Subaru staff join together to put them into pre-addressed boxes to be mailed out. It is always a great evening going toward supporting those young people furthering their educations in order to fulfill their tremendous potential. Thank you once again to everyone involved and see you soon to do this again.
On October 5th 2024 Subaru Superstore and Friends for Life animal rescue came together to launch our Subaru Loves Pets month! On this amazing day not only did our community come together with over 35 volunteers showing up to assist, but we again had a massive turn out with people taking time out of their live to give pets a better life. Vaccinations and Micro Chipping is a huge step in helping these animals stay healthy but also away to get them back home if they get lost. Twice a year we hold this event right here on our showroom floor with dogs barking like crazy, cats laughing at the dogs, and our customers just sitting back enjoying the show. One of the big highlights is the photo booth we put together to capture everyone with their beloved furry friends! We can’t thank enough to Barb and her amazing team from Friends for life that not only come out to help on these days but do this Day In and Day Out to make a huge difference to these animals!
On September 24th, Subaru Superstore of Chandler together with Subaru’s LAX Zone team, Subaru Phoenix retailers, and local organizations volunteered in St. Mary’s food bank in filling food boxes that resulted in 1,800 food boxes! The food boxes will be distributed to the local community in need at St. Mary's Food Bank. This will provide food assistance to those who are experiencing tough times with the aim of one less thing to worry about. Thank you, St. Mary’s Food Bank, for giving the opportunity and thank you Superstore of Chandler team, for taking the time to volunteer!
Subaru Superstore of Chandler was fortunate to team up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to deliver warm blankets to the MD Anderson Cancer Center. These blankets go directly to patients at the Center to keep them warm during their treatments. Kathy Decker from the LLS arranged for two members of the SSOC staff to deliver the blankets and set up a nice display so that the patients were aware of the opportunity. Subaru has partnered with the LLS for more than five years, and we look forward to being able to provide a small amount of comfort for those brave enough to fight this dreaded disease. We will continue to work with the organization and hope to be able to contribute in any ways that are asked. Thank you again to Kathy and her team for putting together this opportunity and more so for the everyday work that they do in the community.
We are excited to announce that Friends for Life and the Subaru Superstore of Chandler have completed the most successful Chip & Vaccine to date. We always hold the event here directly at our store, which allows all of our employees to take part in the event, and our customers just love to watch the craziness of this day. Over 150 Dogs and Cats showed up in our community to take part in making our animal world a better and safer place. With all the over crowding of animal shelters, keeping your pets safe is more important than ever! Barb Savoy and her amazing team of volunteers, 25 people strong on the day of the event, bring a professional and caring feeling to helping all of our local animals and owners! We have partnered with Friends for Life now for 3 years and have helped over 700 animals receive vaccines and micro chipping! Our next event will be in October for Subaru Loves Pets month, and we are planning on it being the biggest event yet! For our City Chandler is an organization that works here in the city to help those in need. Right now they are in the midst of putting together more than 2,700 backpacks filled with school supplies and other necessities for Chandler Unified School District. These will be handed out on July 13th at Compass Christian Church and will go to those that need some assistance getting ready to return to school after the summer break. Subaru Superstore of Chandler was able to make a donation of 500 pairs of socks that will be a small part of the backpacks. In addition, we were able to spend a few hours filling backpacks with the available items. It was great to be able to help and get involved with our local community. We appreciate being invited to assist with the preperation work, and hope to join For our City Chandler with any other projects in the future.
The annual Spring packing party for foster children that have started attending college was held this past week here at Subaru Superstore of Chandler. Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation organized the event and we were happy to once again provide a large space to pack up all the boxes. Twice a year these events are held to provide the young scholars with provisions to help them get through finals. these include blankets, socks, various snacks and most importantly letters of encouragement. This time around there were more than 120 boxes to pack, so as you can imagine it is quite an endeavor. Erika Klotz from AFFCF gathers all the materials and makes the address labels for the boxes, and she always makes sure that everything runs smoothly. All of the volunteers then form an assembly line and assemble boxes and then pack them full of items. Once they are all full, we load them into a Subaru Ascent that is used to deliver them to the AFFCF office in Phoenix the next day. This packing party partnership has lasted many years, and we hope that it continues indefinitely. More than 1,800 young people have received packages throughout the years, and many of them have expressed how much it means to them as they finish the semester or year. Thank you to all the community volunteers, AFFCF staff, and those here at Subaru who were part of this event. We continue to grow each year, and more members of the community are joining us each time we have the event. Lastly and most important best of luck to all of the students and we will be ready to lend a hand at the next party in November.
Here we are with another amazing event, that was not only helpful to our kids & families, but to hand the kids and parents coats and shoes, what a feeling it gave us to take part. Thank you to AZCEND Community Center for hosting the event, doing the hard work every day and allowing us to take part and help. When T'ra Watts from Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation called to let us know that one of the young people in the organization was having trouble accessing benefits and could use a hand with any food or other items we were happy to help. Subaru Superstore of Chandler has partnered with AFFCF for many years and the opportunity to get involved with them in a project always is met with enthusiasm. After T'ra called we organized an internal food and clothing drive that had to be completed with a couple of days. We were able to collect 23 large boxes of food, clothing and household items to help get the young family through their time of need. All of the items were delivered out the their apartment and we are happy to report that his benefits with the state have since been restored. It is always a pleasure to help AFFCF when they have a need and we look forward to many more years of cooperation.
WOW!! We re so excited to announce our BIGGEST turn out for the October 7th 2023 Chip-A-Thon & Vaccine Event! Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Friends For Life have developed a relationship that goes past just raising money, but two companies coming together that truly love animals and are doing their part to make this world a little better for our animals. Barb Savoy and her team are people I can’t say enough about, from their hard work, and the love they give to animals every single day! On Saturday, October 7th, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler partnered with Friends for Life Animal Rescue for the second annual microchip-a-thon, and DAPP vaccine event. Leading the charge for the Subaru Superstore of Chandler was once again, sales manager, Jack Callaghan. In an effort to circumvent any heat related challenges, the event ran from 8am-11am. Friends for Life had 2 paid vet techs, and two shifts of 15 volunteers each (a total of 30 volunteers with shifts from 7-9:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to Noon to accommodate set up and tear down). Microchips were free for both cats and dogs, and DAPP vaccines were free for dogs. Local affiliate ABC 15 news covered the event live that morning with a tease at 8:00 a.m. and live remotes of 3 minutes each at 8:07 a.m. and 8:37 a.m. A total of 115 animals received services in the 3 hour time frame. A total of 23 cats and 63 dogs received microchips and 71 dogs received a DAPP vaccine. We are hopeful we have prevented 86 animals from finding their way into the shelter system, and helped 71 dogs remain free from potentially fatal diseases, and/or spreading disease.
Knox Gifted Academy and Subaru Superstore of Chandler were able to participate in Subaru Loves Learning® initiative again this year. KGA is located just a couple miles down the road from the retailer and provides an exceptional K-6 education to all of their students. It has been wonderful to be able to visit and see the amazing learning opportunities provided by the great staff at KGA on several occasions. We hope to continue this partnership for many years to come and thank KGA for allowing Subaru Superstore to assist in their great learning environment.
On July 5th, 2023, in Gilbert, Arizona, Subaru Superstore of Chandler, in conjunction with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® Desert Region Chapter, had the pleasure of delivering 80 blankets and Care Packages to Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona as part of the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative. They also provided flyers showing patients and their families how to apply for financial assistance during treatment visits that can be applied to lodging or food. These comforting gifts were accompanied by personalized messages of hope written by the customers and staff and the customers of Subaru Superstore of Chandler. This incredible act of generosity was warmly received by the Kembly Mourelo, the Physician Liaison for Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona. Robert Daily and his staff from Subaru were thrilled to distribute some these comforting gifts to patients while they were undergoing their treatments. Being able to deliver a small gesture of comfort to patients that day perfectly captured why the program exists. Many thanks to everyone at Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Cancer & Blood Specialists of Arizona, not only for a memorable day, but for supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Well, it’s another HUGE success with our partners from FRIENDS FOR LIFE! On May 6th, 2023, we had our semi-annual Chip-A-Thon and Vaccination event. Not only does this event provide an amazing service to the community, but we nearly doubled the number of dogs, cats, and families from our last event in October 2022. This event is amazing because it provides vaccinations and ID chips for many animals who now have an opportunity for a safer, healthier life! The Subaru Love Promise® is something we all work hard at, and the events are so important, however, we have a special place in our hearts when it comes to helping our furry friends! Subaru Superstore would love to thank all the AMAZING people behind the event, starting with Barb Savoy and her hard-working team from Friends for Life. We also had over 20 volunteers from local veterinarian’s offices, and wonderful people lending a hand, just because they care! We are super excited for the Subaru Loves Pets® Event coming up October 7th 2023 and of course Friends For Life will be her again doing amazing things.
The Chandler Education Foundation was founded with a mission to provide community support for excellence in education. Among the many opportunities they provide are scholarships for continued education for Chandler teachers through a Lifelong Learning Scholarship program. This program allows teachers and students to apply for a scholarship to assist them as they continue with their education in order to further enrich the Chandler community. Subaru Superstore of Chandler has been fortunate to have a partnership with CEF for many years. This year Chandler Education Foundation was the recipient of $80,000 from Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Subaru of America as part of the annual Subaru Share the Love® celebration. This will help many Chandler educators to continue to make an even greater impact in our local schools. We look forward to many more years of helping to make a difference here in Chandler and enjoy the opportunity work with such a great organization as Chandler Education Foundation.
Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF) expresses its sincere gratitude to the Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Subaru of America, Inc. for their generous support! Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Subaru of America, Inc. presented Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation with a check for $80,000 in April 2023 to support AFFCF's work. The funding will be used to support employment and career readiness programming for youth ages 16+ in our Keys to Success program. AFFCF creates opportunities to build self-esteem and empower children and youth in foster care by funding services to enrich their life experiences and ensure their successful transition to adulthood. Thank you again for your long-standing support of AFFCF and the children and youth we serve. The support that Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Subaru of America, Inc. provides is life-changing!
Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF) held our spring care package packing party for the 11th consecutive semester in April of 2023. Together, volunteers packed 105 care packages for college students with foster care backgrounds to receive ahead of taking their final exams. The care packages contain notes of encouragement, treats, and self-care items. Nationwide, only 3% of students who age out of foster care will obtain a bachelor degree, therefore the support that AFFCF receives from the Subaru Superstore of Chandler and many volunteers truly makes a difference in providing students with extra support and encouragement as they work toward their goals!
Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation held our fall care package packing party for the 10th consecutive semester to provide much needed support for the foster young people who have been attending colleges and universities throughout the country. These events are held each semester and we are excited to continue to be able to provide the venue and be able to participate in the task. Thank you AFFCF and we look forward to seeing everyone again on April 11th.
Subaru Superstore of Chandler has had a long partnership with the Chandler Salvation Army located just two miles west of the dealership in downtown Chandler. The team at the Chandler Salvation Army has created a supportive atmosphere for local residents experiencing hardship. They have a strong array of services available to assist anyone in need. These include a large food pantry to assist those that are going hungry, after school tutoring programs are available to help the neighborhood children who would like help with their schoolwork, assistance with housing placement for those in need of a place to live, and help with those who need to find a job, as well as many other services. They are an inspiration in the Chandler community and we are fortunate provide assistance in various ways. Recently Subaru Superstore of Chandler was able to provide the team at the Salvation Army with thermal blankets and socks targeted to aid the local homeless population. Homelessness has become a growing affliction throughout the nation, and the Chandler area has a growing population of those experiencing homelessness. The two most requested items by this population are socks and blankets, and we were fortunate to be able to provide a large shipment of these to the Salvation Army to distribute to those in need. It has been a cold winter this year here by Arizona standards, so these were very well received and distributed straight to those with the greatest need. Subaru Superstore of Chandler is committed to being involved with our local community to help keep our city and state a fantastic place for everyone to live and visit. Throughout the year we will continue to assist in ways that have a positive impact, and are very thankful to the organizations that help us to get involved.
Accel Adult Services in Phoenix provides lifelong education and employment training for individuals over the age of 18 with developmental disabilities. The facility was badly in need of a fresh look and Subaru Superstore of Chandler was fortunate to be able to join a group of volunteers to paint the interior of the building. Over the course of a long day we painted the building, giving a fresh new look. The program participants were very excited with their new clean space, and it was very gratifying to see the smiles that it brought to their faces. Thank you to Accel for allowing us to spend some time working to improve on of our outstanding local non profit organizations.
For October, the Subaru Superstore partnered with the Friends For Life animal shelter to provide free microchipping and yearly vaccinations to pet lovers in the East valley. The Subaru Superstore wants to do everything possible to help reunite families with their missing pets, which is why we’re excited to bring Friends For Life back in the spring!
Join the Subaru Superstore in celebrating the Subaru Loves Pets program for the entire month of October! Kicking the month off with our free Microchip-A-Thon Saturday, October 1st where Arizona’s Friends for Life welcome all furry friends to come get microchipped at the Subaru Superstore. We’re also excited to celebrate #MakeADogsDay on Saturday, October 22nd where we proudly partner with the ASPCA to help the last-to-be-adopted dogs find a family. On August 23rd Subaru Superstore was happy to participate in filling 26 pallets of food to be distributed to the local community in need at St. Mary's Food Bank. This will provide needed nourishment to those who are experiencing tough times right now, and the Superstore team was grateful for the opportunity to join with Subaru of America and other local organizations to give back a little of our time for our community. Thank you St. Mary's for allowing us to participate.
On Monday, June 27, the LLS Greater Phoenix office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Subaru Superstore of Chandler had the pleasure of delivering extra soft blankets to the Cancer & Blood Specialist of Arizona’s East Valley clinic as part of the Subaru Loves to Care Program. Each year different employees volunteer for this special delivery and this year General Manager Rob Daily and team members Lauren and Dustin were on hand to unload 8 bright blue Subaru Loves to Care boxes of warm and cozy blankets. The blankets will be given to cancer patients in treatment along with personalized messages of hope written by staff and customers of Subaru Superstore of Chandler. This incredible act of generosity was warmly received by Cancer & Blood Specialist of Arizona clinic staff, nurses and doctors. Rob and his team were able to hand deliver blankets to patients in the treatment room, stopping to chat with each patient and share the support of their community. One patient who held her blanket tightly as tears slowly ran down her cheeks, smiled and repeated “thank you, I really needed this today” and took a picture with the Subaru team and her new blanket. Clinic nurses and doctors gathered in the hall where Rob and team thanked them for the critical work they do and declared- “will be back again next year!” Many thanks to everyone at Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Cancer & Blood Specialist of Arizona, not only for their continued support of our patients, but for supporting LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Subaru Loves to Care event this June allowed Subaru Superstore of Chandler to continue our partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by delivering blankets and letters of encouragement to the patients of the Cancer and Blood Specialists of Arizona. The blankets provide warmth to those undergoing treatment in the office, and the letters help let them know that Subaru believes that nobody should be fighting alone. The letters were written by both customer and staff here at the Subaru Superstore, many of whom have friends or family that have been personally affected by the disease. This is the seventh year of our collaboration with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and we hope to continue and expand our work together in the future. To celebrate Subaru loves the Earth month Subaru Superstore of Chandler participated in a clean up of Tumbleweed Park right down the street from us here in Chandler. The prior day the park hosted the annual BBQ and Beer Festival which drew more than 30,000 people for a day of fun and music. As one can imagine such a large crowd left our beautiful city park with quite mess. A group of Subaru volunteers led by Subaru District Manager Jason Hirata met at the park and helped pick up garbage left throughout the park. Together we were able to scour the park and fill many bags with debris left by the crowd. The volunteers from Subaru Superstore were happy to have the chance to play a small part in helping out to restore the park to a great place for families to enjoy.
It was time again for Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation and Subaru Superstore of Chandler to get together to pack care packages for foster children attending colleges and universities around the country. Together we made 83 packages that were sent out to help them with their end of the year exams and show that there are people thinking about them and providing support. This has become a bi-annual event, and this time there were more than 30 volunteers involved in the effort. Many of us can remember how stressful of a time the end of a school year is, and these packages hopefully make it easier to finish the year out strong. Thank you to everyone involved and we will get together again in November to do it again.
The Phoenix Subaru Retailers (in conjunction with KTAR) held a book drive in March 2022. The Raise A+ Reader campaign kicked off on National Read Across America Day, March 2, to encourage the community to prioritize literacy. The campaign even inspired one Valley man, Mike Austin, to learn to read at age 55, The Phoenix Subaru retailers collected new and gently-used children’s books. More than 1,000 books were collected and donated to Southwest Human Development. The books will be placed in Little Free Libraries throughout the community in order to help get books into the hands of kids who need them the most.
On February 25th Subaru Superstore of Chandler delivered a large donation of new and used clothing to the Chandler Salvation Army just three miles from our dealership. Jeff Williams and George Macedon from the Salvation Army do a great job helping the Chandler community, and we were happy to assist. The clothing was gathered by employees here at Subaru, and will go directly to those that need it most here in the area. Thank you Jeff and George for allowing the Superstore to work with you in providing a hand to our neighbors in need. We look forward to identifying future ways that we can help such a great local organization.
On November 16th Subaru Superstore and Arizona Friends of Foster Children got together to make care packages for over 85 Foster children attending college and getting ready to study for their final exams. The packages were filled with food items, socks and blankets, along with a nice note to them know that their are people who care. Thank you to all the volunteers that assisted with the party, as well as the staff at the Superstore who provided the venue and helped put together the care packages. On November 11th George Macedon from Fans Across America and the Salvation Army visited Subaru Superstore in Chandler to pick up 80 all weather blankets to distribute to local Chandler residents experiencing homelessness. This is the second year that George has coordinated distributing all weather blankets in association with Subaru Superstore of Chandler, and we look forward to expanding the partnership in the future to find ways that we can work together to make a difference in the local community. All donations go directly to local residents, and going forward Subaru Superstore will accept donations on behalf of the Chandler Salvation Army and deliver any items directly to them. We were very honored to assist with the blankets, and are excited about the opportunity to help in the future. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, United Food Bank has seen a major increase in the need for food assistance in our community, and as many as one in six Arizona families has struggled with hunger. In March, five Subaru dealerships in Arizona came together to build 710 emergency food bags for United Food Bank: Subaru Superstore of Chandler, Subaru Superstore of Surprise, AutoNation Subaru Scottsdale, Peoria Subaru, and Camelback Subaru. Each emergency food bag provides about 14 meals to families in need. And with Subaru's support of Feeding America food banks in 2021, United Food Bank will be able to provide about 150,000 meals for Arizonans in need. On April 15th the Arizona Friends of Forster Children Foundation held its semi annual packing party at the Subaru Superstore of Chandler. The event was held in the main showroom, and allowed volunteers from the organization to join with Superstore and Subaru employees to put together care packages and encouraging letters to foster children studying for their final exams. A total of eighty one packages were made and readied to be sent out to encourage and help the students finish the year strongly. This is the third year that the groups have partnered together for this event, and we are already looking forward to another packing party in December for fall final exams. A big thank you to everyone involved, and best of luck to the students on both their exams and in the future.
The employees of all the local Phoenix Subaru retailers volunteered at the United Food Bank to pack emergency food bags. It was a fun and very productive event! At the end of the shift, they packed enough to feed 770 families! The Phoenix Subaru retailers are proud to donate their time and support to such a great cause. This is just one of the ways the Subaru retailers in Arizona are giving back and being more than just car retailers! In February, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler team visited United Food Bank in Mesa and helped build 910 food bags for families in need! Since the COVID-19 pandemic, United Food Bank has seen a major increase in the need for food in our community, and as many as one in six Arizonans have struggled with hunger. Volunteers are critical to our mission of feeding Arizonans facing hunger, and we're thankful the Subaru team plans to continue volunteering throughout the year. Thank you to Subaru for saving the lives of dogs and cats. At the Arizona Animal Welfare League this October, 2020 we were able to have light shine in on 34 dogs as they found their forever home and had their adoption fee covered thanks to you Subaru. We are so grateful for these partnerships and have appreciated all of the support over the years from Subaru Superstore of Chandler. One particular dog, named Sunshine has the toughest battle, even before she made it to our shelter, but thanks to our community and Subaru, she now is in her forever home and will be loved and cared for. Sunshine was one of nearly 30 other dogs rescued from a hoarding situation by the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Her conditions when we found her were rough. The animal urine situation in the home where she was found was so severe that the uric acid burned her fur and damaged skin around her eyes. The damage could possibly be permanent. She’s on pain medication to help with her hip issues, and she’s getting stronger every day. Her medical expenses were taken care of by the AAWL Medical Miracle Fund, which helps offset the costs associated with medical procedures that go above standard vaccinations and spay and neuter. This Great Dane, Sunshine, didn’t let her terrible situation cloud her outlook on life. For her new family to have the relief of her adoption fee taken care of so that they can continue to care and heal her is all they ever wished for. Thank you again to all of you at Subaru who support our dog and cat lifesaving efforts.
The Phoenix Metro Subaru Retailers and Subaru of America employees all volunteered at the St. Mary's Food bank to pack Emergency Food Boxes. It was a fun and hard-working session where we all packed over 31 pallets worth of food for those in need. Rob, Steve, Brock, Morgan and David worked hard putting canned foods and other snacks into the emergency boxes. The Subaru Superstore of Chandler is an invaluable support to Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF). AFFCF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the self-esteem and enrich the lives of children in foster care in Arizona by funding activities, education and other needs that provide them with quality experiences while they live through very difficult circumstances. AFFCF is incredibly grateful for the Subaru Superstore of Chandler's support both through Share the Love and in the midst of COVID-19. When it was needed the most, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler provided extra support in two significant ways. One of the populations that AFFCF supports are young adults who are aging out (or have aged out) of foster care and are pursuing their educational and career goals. This population was drastically impacted when classes abruptly shifted to online formats and many found themselves unemployed from jobs they had held either on campus or in the service sector. As AFFCF worked alongside other organizations to help address these young adults' basic needs, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler was there to help. Their entire staff went a step above to collect food for the Basic Needs Drive that AFFCF organized in partnership with Thrive Arizona. The food they collected supported young adults who needed extra help during the COVID-19 crisis. Many of those served were part of AFFCF's employment and career development program (Keys to Success) or college students who are recipients of the AFFCF Post-Secondary scholarship. As time went on and students adjusted to online classes, the Subaru Superstore of Chandler continued their commitment to support AFFCF's Post-Secondary scholarship students by providing funding for end-of-semester care packages. Care packages provide encouragement for final exams and let students know that others are cheering them on. While the Subaru Superstore of Chandler was unable to host a care package "packing party" with volunteers at the store as they did at the end of the Fall 2019 semester, it was still wonderful to receive Subaru's support. All of the AFFCF Post-Secondary scholarship recipients (73 in total) received (or will receive) a care package filled with snacks, candy, a Starbucks gift card, socks, and a note of encouragement. Receiving the care packages, especially during this time, meant a lot to the students. As one student wrote: Thank you so much for the care package! I just received it today. It is so amazing to be thought of and cared for during this time. Thank you for your constant support! The thought means so much to me and the hand-written note was a pleasure to receive. Subaru Superstore of Chandler hosted a Packing Party for The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation. ( AFFCF). We had about 50 people purchase items and volunteer their time for this wonderful event. These packages included all kinds of items the kids can use as they transition to college. Some of the items included in every package were Starbucks Gift Cards, sox, all kinds of snacks and a college staple, Ramon. Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation enhances the lives and improves the self esteem of children in foster care by funding social, athletic and educational activities that are not funded in any other way. The Keys to Success program provides career development, education and employment services to youth who are aging out of foster care.

Because of your love and generosity for our 4-legged friends, we collected a truck load of food and supplies for the Arizona Animal Welfare League and ASPCA. This was greatly appreciated! The Arizona Animal Welfare League is Arizona's oldest and largest no-kill shelter, rescuing over 4000 dogs and cats from across the state and it's communities. With two adoption locations, youth education programs, low cost public veterinary services, and foster programs that recuses over 1500 underage puppies and kittens each year, AAWL strives to be the premier community resource for animal welfare and pets.
Subaru Superstore of Chandler has partnered with ASPCA, Arizona Animal Welfare League and Don't Leave Me.org...if an effort to help protect, feed and love our 4-legged friends. Subaru Superstore of Chandler was so fortunate to get involved again this year with Knox Gifted Academy for our annual "Subaru Loves Learning" event. Our clients and employees donated over 200 books to Knox Gifted Academy on October 11, 2019. The books were picked up by the Dean of Students and the Student Council President...it was so exciting presenting them with the books and to have them in our store. Knox Gifted Academy (KGA) is a public school for gifted learners. With more than 700 K-6 gifted students, their vision is to enhance their lives through our core values: seeing the possibilities, acting with empathy, and succeeding as a KGA team. As part of the Chandler Unified School District, students at KGA thrive in the open-walled, team teaching instructional model that focuses on design thinking, integrated curriculum, and Maker Education through a problem-based lens. KGA continually seeks to redefine and redesign innovative instructional strategies, collaborate and network with schools across the globe, and connect with educators that see the possibilities in children as risk-takers, creative thinkers, and “wonderers” of the world. Family visiting from the east coast and I were stuck in traffic on the 101 at afternoon rush hour. Phoenix hit 103 degrees and the engine temp was moving up.I poured in a couple bottles of water and called Chandler Superstore. Subaru Service arranged for me to bring her at 7 the next morning, when it was cooler. That was Friday and they found her (original) radiator had to be replaced. It had to be ordered, but Monday morning she was fixed up and ready to go for another 19 years. PS thanks for yummy breakfast while I waited.
On August 9, 2019, the AZ Chapter and Subaru Superstore of Chandler had the pleasure of delivering 80 blankets to Phoenix Children's Hospital- Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders as part of the Subaru Loves To Care program.These comforting gifts were accompanied by personalized messages of hope, delivered by general manager, Mike Wasserman as well a special guest, Island Princess. LLS is proud to partner with Subaru to spread hope, love and warmth to those fighting cancer, across the country and right here in the AZ community.
In partnership with Subaru of America, Subaru Superstore of Chandler selected the Chandler Education Foundation as one of the 2019 recipients of the "Share The Love" event. On Monday, March 25, 2019, we presented the check to Chandler Education Foundation in the amount of $20,805.12. The Subaru Loves the Earth initiative continues in April and showcases our promise and commitment to the environment. The Subaru Loves the Earth initiative is an ongoing program throughout the year, which shows our commitment to the environment. The United States generates about 230 million tons of trash annually—and less than a quarter of it gets recycled. The only way to intercept hard to recycle items before they reach the landfill is to collect and recycle them to create something new. Subaru retailers and TerraCycle are continuing our partnership to intercept common, hard to recycle items, give them new life, and turn things like snack bags into usable items like park benches, bike racks and even playgrounds, which can be donated back to local community partners. By supporting environmental causes were helping make our world a better place to live and raise our families.
Subaru Superstore was honored to support Val Vista Academy in the 2018 Subaru Loves Learning event. Val Vista Academy is a tuition-free Kindergarten- 8th Grade charter school. As one of the three Ball Charter Schools, we are backed with over 20 years of academic excellence. Val Vista Academy believes in growing every child’s potential. All students are provided with a safe, hands-on learning environment. Our program contains an early emphasis on literacy, also an infusion of STEM to all areas in our curriculum. We also offer Spanish, Music, P.E., Technology, Library and Art Masterpiece. A large variety of extracurricular activities including a championship athletic program. Our small community environment matched with our involved parents makes Val Vista Academy special. Thanks to our generous clients we were able to provide Val Vista Academy with boxes of school supplies and many new books for the students. Subaru of Chandler Loves Learning and was happy to help collect all these items for the school.
Subaru Superstore of Chandler and Subaru Superstore of Surprise held a Safety and Technology event at the Liberty Mutual Campus in Chandler. We had over 400 sales and claims representatives on hand to learn about the features and benefits of the new Subarus. We provided Eyesight demonstrations, as well as Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot system operations. The purpose of this was to better educate the employees of Liberty Mutual on the use and function of this exceptional technology, that could be life-saving!
Every "Third Thursday" Subaru Superstore of Chandler has it's New Owner Orientation Event. This last event on August 16th brought about 50 clients and guest back to the dealership to talk and ask questions about their Subaru and learn more about the technology. We provide Eyesight demonstrations as well as discussions on the operation of the navigation and paring phones.

On January 18th. we held our monthly New Owner Orientation. We have over 50 guest, including a special guest (Tom Worobec) from Automotive News who was doing a story on Best Practices of successful customer focused retailers. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and, today, is one of the largest in the world. A leading voice for animals for 150 years, the ASPCA provides life-saving protection and care to animals in need. Through the ASPCA, Share the Love has had a significant impact on the rescue, transport, and adoption of nearly 40,000 animals across the country. This year’s Share the Love campaign, participating Subaru retailers are partnering with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) to help pets find safe and loving homes. The ASPCA provided grants totaling $247,500 to support 147 fee-waived adoption events. During the month of October, Subaru Superstore clients and employees donated food, grooming supplies and pet toys to our local ASPCA chapter. Subaru Loves Pets.
At Subaru, we know the deepest learning happens when students have the tools they need to inspire new ways of thinking and seeing the world. Through our Subaru Loves Learning initiative, Subaru is supporting the AAAS by donating over 70,000 award-winning science books to schools across the country. This year Subaru Superstore of Chandler has partnered with the Tarwater Elementary School as the recipient of the Subaru Loves Learning book donations.
Throughout the month of August, we partnered with the American Association for the Advancement of Science ( AAAS). By nurturing students' scientific interest and talents, AAAS programs provide exciting opportunities and help build bridges to careers in science , technology, engineering and mathematics. We at Subaru Superstore of Chandler believe that students are the best hope for a better future, and we will continue to inspire them to learn more about the sciences. I appreciate the support the students have received from our customers, vendors and employees.
On August 17, 2017, we had our monthly New Owner Orientation. It was a huge success. We had over 50 new Subaru owners attend for the fun, food and conversation. Our local Subaru Ambassador, Ron was here giving away Subaru swag. A fun informative time was had by all. Thank you all for making this a success.
LLS- AZ Chapter was honored to partner with Chandler Subaru Superstore for a second year in a row for Subaru Loves to Care! The partnership made a huge “wave” of a delivery to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The day started with a special delivery to our friend, Sophie. During the exclusive visit with Island Princess “Moana” Sophie received a personalized Subaru activity kit and a blanket. The family was so thankful, sending a note saying, “Thank you so much for bringing Princess Moana to see Sophie and also for the kind gifts….. She was very excited to see all the art supplies! Even Sophie chimed in saying, “Thank you for coming to see me. Thank you for the presents! Hope to see you soon.” The delivery continued at the hospital as blankets were personally handed to patients. One patient was particularly moved as Moana asked him to sing with her. He sang his heart singing “How Far I’ll Go” (from Disney’s Moana animated movie). He then gave a handshake to Chandler Subaru’s Superstore General Manager, Mike Wasserman, thanking him profusely for the blanket and spending some individualized time with him. Then the staff invited us in their tradition of singing a special song to a patient who just ended his chemotherapy. It was such a heartwarming experience! A BIG THANK YOU to Subaru for creating such an impact in our local community. Thursday May 11, 2017 the Chandler Education Foundation Board of Directors hosted reception at the Ashley Castle to honor the 2017 Community Donor Scholarship Recipients and the IMPACT Chandler Scholars & Scholarship Recipients. Honoring scholars from: Chandler High School Perry High School Hill Academy Basha High School Hamilton High School ACP-Erie Subaru loves Education and Learning and will continue to support these efforts in the future. The new 2017 Impreza is now available. The new Impreza was voted the Car of The Year in Japan. This week Subaru of America, Inc. announced it was added to the Ward's 10 best interiors for 2017. ( 4-18-17) We're so proud to have this amazing vehicle as part of our lineup for 2017.

April 2017, Subaru Superstore presented $52,065.00 to the Arizona Foster Kids Program (AFFCF), with the entire donation supporting their Keys To Success Program. This program helps youth about to transition from foster care and helps prepare them for their career and independent living.

Every month Subaru Superstore invites it's clients back for a New Owner Orientation. This months event was held on February 16th, 2017. We had about 50 participants involved, asking questions, meeting other Subaru owners and enjoying Eyesight demonstrations. We also review the other technologies found on our Subaru's so our clients get to experience the benefits and value of these exciting features.

The Fiesta Bowl is hosts a variety of local events each year, as well as two elite bowl games – the Fiesta Bowl held at University of Phoenix Stadium and the Cactus Bowl held at Chase Field. At the core of the organization, though, is Fiesta Bowl Charities, which has contributed more than $8 million to Arizona nonprofits over the past six years. Subaru Superstore had the honor of being part of the Fiesta / Oasis Bowl kick-off party. Approximately 4800 football fans attended this event. The Fiesta Bowl Committee is a supporter of many local charities. This event was prior to the game with the Boise State Bronco's and Baylor University from Waco Texas. DLRR was founded in September of 1999 and has grown by leaps and bounds. Our mission is to find forever loving homes for displaced Labs in Arizona. We are a non-profit 501-C all volunteer origination, in the past four years we have taken in 1088 dogs and adopted out 975 dogs to forever loving homes plus 23 on medical hold (operations etc.), DLRR annual budget is $272,962.78. Lisa Cvijanovich of Subaru Superstore joined forces with LLS along with Peoria Subaru to donate blankets to Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center at Honor Health. In addition, lunch was catered courtesy of Olive Garden. A local Peoria elementary school donated their winning lunch to nurses and staff at the cancer center for all the hard work they do every day. The students originally won the lunch for their fundraising efforts through Pasta for Pennies, LLS Student Series Program. This is the 2nd donation from Subaru Superstore, with the first being Phoenix Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
We were so touched by the many stories shared by Child Life Specialist, Kim Froehle from Phoenix Children Hospital's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Subaru and LLS were fortunate to have the opportunity to connect with patients and their families first hand. Along with a local professional team's mascot, Subaru and LLS were given a tour of the facility and personally handed out the blankets and care cards to patients. The opportunity was not only heart-warming but also rewarding to see the faces of the children light up as they opened their boxes. LLS- AZ Chapter is honored to have partnered with Subaru "Loves to Care" program as this opportunity was a firm reminder catching the spirit of our mission. When you visit us this June at Subaru Superstore please participate in the Subaru Loves to Care Initiative as we are proud to partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is the world's largest health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. LLS's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. During the month of June we will be collecting Messages of Hope for those affected by cancer. Our goal is to share as many messages as we can. Together, we believe can bring hope, love and warmth to cancer patients across the country. For every message shared, we'll also be distributing advocacy bracelets to bring added awareness to the support of this cause. At the end of June, Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be delivering blankets and collected messages of hope to patients in each participating retailer's local community.

Over the winter months, monarch butterflies in Mexico begin to make the journey north to the United States in early spring. Soon after they leave Mexico, pairs of monarch's mate. As they reach the southern United States, females will look for available milkweed plants to lay eggs. Monarchs are truly spectacular migrants, because the butterflies know the correct direction to migrate even though they have never made the journey before. They follow an internal "compass" that points them in the right direction each spring and fall. The monarch migration is one of the greatest natural phenomena in the insect world. Here's where Subaru Superstore of Chandler is here to help. We have partnered with the National Wildlife to help these majestic creatures combat rapidly declining populations in recent years. For the month of April as part of the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, Subaru Superstore will have a butterfly habitat planter on-site. The planter will be full of milkweed to help these beautiful monarchs lay their eggs. Come by and check it out. We will also be giving out milkweed packets to create your own butterfly garden at home!
Over $7,000 was donated to the national charities of ASPCA ($3187), Make-A-Wish ($1958), Meals on Wheels ($1395) and National Parks ($916) through the annual Share the Love campaign. Share The Love occurs over a 6 week period (Thanksgiving - New Year's) whereby clients purchasing a new vehicle selected and directed Subaru Superstore to make a $250 donation per vehicle sold towards one of six pre-selected charities. Thank you to our wonderful Subaru Superstore clients for supporting this year's Share the Love campaign and overwhelmingly selecting our two local charities both aimed at supporting Arizona teachers, students and foster youth (Chandler Education Foundation ($36,000) and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation ($48,000)!

Our team presented a $35,000 donation during a CUSD teacher rally held at the Chandler Center for the Arts. The donation to the Chandler Education Foundation (CEF) will be used to fund all 20 teacher $1000 scholarships and 15 student $1000 scholarships in 2015. Our friendship with Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation (AFFCF) recently began by adding James to our intern team. As part of our Love Promise commitment, Subaru Superstore helps good people, do good things. Recently, owner Richard Cvijanovich saw our customer, Sandy Opp creating a beautiful wreath (while in our customer lounge as her Subaru was being serviced). He learned that Sandy made these incredible wreaths with her own personal funds to give to charities and people in challenging situations-simply to brighten their day! Richard was so moved by her generosity to help those in need, that he offered to fund some of her wreath supplies. The team at Subaru think people like Sandy are wonderful and appreciate the difference she makes in our community. We also appreciate her making a beautiful wreath for an event we support - A Night to Fight Hunger Gala. This fundraiser is organized by Matthew's Crossing Food Bank and money raised from this event will help their mission to alleviate hunger locally by providing food and other basic necessities to our neighbors in need. This enabled them to acquire 3 new Robot kits, 2 laptop computers, add a third field for the district and host a VEX Scrimmage, where over 25 teams came to Willis Junior High to compete. The team at Subaru was on hand during the scrimmage to take care of almost 50 volunteers with t-shirts, ball caps, gift bags, coffee and water. The Gilbert Chandler Badgers Our newest Service Advisor, Kevin Irick, is a coach for his son's football team and asked Subaru Superstore to sponsor the team. We love to help good people like Kevin, do good things, so we said "Heck, Yes!" Subaru Superstore can really pick 'em! (Great Service Advisors and great teams!) We sponsored, Kevin's team this past year, called the Gilbert Chandler Badgers, a football team in the Jr. Pee Wee Division (nine-11 year olds) who have been together for five years. Well, they did it this past season (12-0) and won the Conference Championship, State Championship and finally Regional Championship! Great going Coach Kevin and Badgers! Let's do this again!
Parents of Gifted Learners Subaru Superstore loves to help good people, doing good things! So when the local school district's Director was putting together a Speaker Series for Parents of Gifted Learners, we jumped right in and helped. We secured speakers and a crew to record the series (for parents who couldn't make it). We also provided Starbucks coffee and Paradise Bakery cookies to the adults and arranged for daycare for the children who were given special treats of their own (Tootsie Pops and Subaru Frisbees!)
Mesquite Wildcats Hockey Club Subaru Superstore loves to help good people doing good things, like the coaches and players of the Mesquite Wildcats Hockey Club which volunteers their time to coach the team. Go Wildcats!
Chandler Unified School District The team at Subaru Superstore of Chandler felt great when they presented a $6000 check to the Chandler Unified School District recently. Knox Gifted Academy, a STEM school in Chandler, AZ, was the beneficiary, and their teachers and students are very appreciative. The 5th-grade students benefitted significantly from the Multi Media Production Studio with Apple products and software to enable the children to produce professional-quality videos. "This technology center will be used by students to aid in their Engineering is Elementary and Design Squad activities, and we are so thankful for Subaru's contribution and commitment to Education", said Principal Ruth Michalscheck.
Chandler Leadership Institute The good people at the Subaru Superstore of Chandler like to do good things. Recently, they served lunch to the Chandler Leadership Institute for its Police Issue Day. "We were happy to support such a worthwhile group", said owner Richard Cvijanovich. "My wife Lisa is a graduate of CLI and learned much about how well our cities different sectors work together. She also feels she can now more effectively contribute to the local community, especially serving the education segment."
Knox Gifted Academy Thanks to a generous donation presented by Subaru Superstore of Chandler, the students and faculty at Knox Gifted Academy in Chandler, Arizona now have powerful educational technologies fit for the 21st Century STEM classroom. After months of planning and assistance from Subaru Superstore of Chandler, Knox Gifted Academy purchased an iMac loaded with multimedia apps and accessories. "The support we've received from Subaru Superstore of Chandler has helped move our school and students to the forefront of digital media production," said Michael Buist fifth-grade Gifted STEM teacher in Chandler, AZ. Toys for Tots Subaru Superstore of Chandler supported Toys for Tots with a Santa's Subaru campaign of their own, aimed at inviting the community to donate unwrapped toys. After collecting hundreds of toys, a vehicle caravan led by Santa's Subaru (a sleigh-like wrapped Subaru Outback), traveled from the Subaru Superstore of Chandler to meet the U.S. Marines in Phonix. The U.S. Marines were on location to receive the toys for delivery to local, less fortunate children just in time for the holidays. "All children, no matter what their situation, deserve to have their holidays brightened with a special gift," said Richard Cvijanovich, owner of Subaru Superstore of Chandler. The event reflects employees' continuing commitment to give back to the community in ways that benefit the less fortunate.
Teacher Appreciation Week Subaru Superstore of Chandler presented lunch to 50 teachers and administrators during Teacher Appreciation Week. The teachers were very pleased, and it was fun to see the blue Subaru water bottles on teacher desks after the event; gifts given by Subaru Superstore. In addition, Subaru Superstore supplied beverages and cookies (as well as Subaru Frisbees and treats for children) to participants who attended the CUSD Parent Academy Series in Chandler, AZ.
Bird Lover and Avid Conservationist Subaru Superstore is excited to support & share Mary Rose's story. A passionate bird lover and avid conservationist, she recently began a journey only a handful of women have ever attempted. And it's all for the birds! She'll be participating in the first-ever Pacific Rowing Race-that will take her thousands of miles across the ocean-to raise funds for avian conservation efforts.
